Baby Hedgehogs born at Pembrokeshire Hogspital

A hedgehog came in on Friday after being dug up by a Jack Russell. The hog was uninjured, a good weight and feeding well so, after observing it for a few days and waiting for better weather, I released it. This morning, when cleaning out its cage, we found 4 babies. Presumably the encounter with the dog brought the birth on. They are 4 little girls and, so far, all is well. They are being fed every 2 hours. Everything hinges on how I warmed them up.  They were very cold but they mustn't be warmed too quickly. I had them tucked up my jumper that I use specially for this then I transferred them to the incubator. Fingers crossed.
