Grey seal at Newport Bridge
Very surprised to see this seal on the Nevern river today near the bridge at Newport. Do not know if this unusual behaviour for a seal - at first I thought it was a dog otter.
Seals do find their way up river when there is good fishing to be had but he needs to go back to sea with the tide. When I worked at the Seal Hospital, we had to move one from the Cleddau when it kept coming up at high tide to herd the salmon who were at the salmon leap, up a tributory under the Council buildings to have a feast
