Wooly bear
Yesterday (Saturday) found on slopes of Garn Fawr a wooly caterpillar. I'm not asking for i.d. although that would be a bonus, but just wonder
if it's unusual to find caterpillars out and about in January? Mind it was warm in the sunshine!
Not the world's greatest photograph but: it does have more than a passing resemblance to a Fox moth caterpillar. They hibernate in leaf litter between September and March and as you suggest a little warm weather..... A nice find - a reminder spring is not far away!! Well done.
