Black and Yellow Longhorn Beetle

This beautiful creature was hanging onto a Hogweed for dear life in the howling wind on the clifftop yesterday. Because of the conditions I had no specimen pot or camera with me, but somehow managed to get it home.

I hate it when I look up something I've never met before and it is described as 'widespread and common'!

  1. I have just found one of these myself on hogweed in our garden and, like you, it's the first one I have even seen - perhaps they are having a good year!
