Emperor Moth

This rather early female Emperor Moth was seen yesterday on top of the cliff here. She seems pristine. What these females do is to bask on vegetation releasing pheromones which waft in the breeze. Males from half a mile away home in. I've never seen this, so I waited, but nobody came! Peter Byles, Ceibwr.
