Wasp Nest.

I opened the door and realised I had to shut it again quickly. I thought about taking the nest down in the depths of winter and place it in a glass case to observe but not sure if they use the same nest year in year out. If so I will leave it alone. Does anyone know how to preserve them. I thought about spraying it with hairspray.
