true colors, that's what caught my eye almost like painted finger nails. they were on top of the rocks in full sunshine where they emerge into the sea when it is high tide. it was the orange-red that made me take an extra close look at them. I have always thought of mussels as beautiful anyway.did I say muscles - probably have seen plenty of those on the beach but now this is a first !!
