Stumble and Slebech

All the skuas were clearly to the south side of me this morning: a couple of hours at Strumble gave 2 pale-bellied Brent Geese, 9 male Scotor, and a mini-passage of 5 Red-throated and one Great Northern Diver.

The starling roost at Slebech yesterday evening was spectacular in the high wind, with wonderful swirling clouds of MANY tens of thousands of birds joining and separating off, before dropping down into the reed bed. We watched from the  Minwear lookout, got there at 4pm, and they had all rooster by 4.45. 4 Buzzards did not seem to achieve anything, but one of the two Sparrowhawks may have got a kill.
